Application - Commercial Global Positioning System

Project details - One of a pair of keypads we made for a new generation of hand-held GPS/PDA device. An enormous challenge to meet MIL SPEC 810F environmental standards in such a small package. Silicone rubber keypad, stainless steel domes, LED back-lighting on a thin panel PCB. Another tough challenge of the NUM keypad was to provide graphics on the base of the keypad in addition to the keytops - all of which had to be illuminated.
