An extremely challenging specification included a requirement for a power on to readiness time of less than 3 minutes from a 24 hour cold soak at -55C. Jayco designed all the control circuitry required to achieve this in a complex electronics module that includes secure communication while maintaining a modest power budget. Specifications included sunlight readable displays operable at -55C, EMI/Tempest to MIL-STD-461, and environmental requirements to MLIL-STD-810 ranging from Arctic to Sahara conditions. Jayco designed the entire electro-mechanical package that passed all testing at first attempt.

A relatively simple but still highly specified keypad assembly for a defense ground vehicle application designed to withstand extended temperature and humidity and vehicular shock and vibration. The keypad is shielded, has metal domes for tactile feedback and multiple embedded SMT LEDs mounted on a Polyamide flexible circuit for maximum reliability and durability. A self-adhesive back is provided for easy mounting to the housing.

Another unique demonstration of Jayco’s design and engineering expertise. This interface is designed to add laser sighting and thermal imaging to a variety of automatic weapons and be used in any conditions. Product is designed to survive rapid decompression and MFF, be dropped under water and still be operational. Water sealing meets IP68 with MIL-I-46058 seal protection for the switch assembly and around the waterproof connectors for additional protection. Meets and exceeds a battery of MIL-STD-810 requirements including gun shock and vibration.
